This guide is presented as a series of questions that you might reasonably ask if you’re trying to leverage the design system during a typical product design workflow.
Open your Figma project and select the “File” menu.
From the File menu, select “Import” and then “Import to project”.
Choose the design system UI kit file you want to import and select “Import”.
The UI kit will be imported into your Figma project and added to the “Components” section on the left-hand side of the screen.
You can then use the components from the UI kit in your designs by dragging and dropping them from the Components section onto your canvas.
The components in the UI kit will be linked, which means that any changes you make to the original component will be reflected in all instances of that component in your design.
You can also customize the components to fit the specific needs of your design. To do this, select the component on the canvas and use the properties panel on the right-hand side of the screen to make changes to its appearance and behavior.
By using a design system UI kit with Figma, you can quickly and easily incorporate a consistent, cohesive set of UI elements into your designs, saving time and effort and helping to ensure that your user interface is easy to use and navigate.
